STEVE FRANKE

My parents moved to San Diego in 1956 from Long Beach, CA. They built their home in La Jolla in 1958 and I started attending Bird Rock Elementary. I went on to La Jolla JR/SR High School and graduated in 1966. I was accepted to UCSD and started attending in the fall of 1966.

I joined the U S Army in June 1968. Served in Viet Nam as an Artillery Officer on the Cambodian border. I was Honorably Discharged in 1971. I moved to Anchorage, Alaska where I attended Bible College and graduated in 1975.

My wife and I joined a Team that pioneered a Church in Springfield, Oregon. The Springfield Church grew rapidly and I was ordained a Teacher/ Elder and served on Staff till I was asked to move to Ft. Collins, Colorado to help start another church. I was ordained Teacher/Elder there till I moved to Denver to be a part of the Shepherding Movement. I served with the 5 teachers ( Derek Prince, Ern Baxter, Charles Simpson, Bob Mumford, Don Bashem. In their system I pastured over 20 families. In moving back to San Diego I have attended Calvary Chapel No. Coast, Grace Vineyard, and Beacons Bible Church.

When the pastor passed from cancer I started praying what and where did the Lord want for me to do and go. As he often does He started speaking to my heart. “Steve, do you love me? Feed my sheep and lambs.” That was the beginning of SVCC. from that point he has formed a team of very capable men and women to launch this local Christian Center.

I am looking forward to serving with all of you to build His Kingdom.
